Human
Grimm
Humans might be the most plentiful race in the world but they are still relative newcomers to Mystern Forest. The vast majority of Humans in Mystern are centralized in the frontier town of Hawkcrest. Most humans come from the Duné Empire. Humans are the least likely to realize that they are just pawns in a celestial game of war. |
Elf
Elves are the oldest living race in Mystern Forest. They lived in Mystern even before Numiera and Vivalvi were banished to the forest. The Elves of Mystern Forest tend to be rather isolated and come in three different sub-species. High Elves are tall and fair beings who make up the majority of the population of Oberonia. The see themselves as the perfect beings and look down on all other races, even their Wood Elf brethren. When making a High Elf think of elves from Lord of the Rings. Wood Elves are shorter than the average human and live nomadic lives in the forest. They share the xenophobia of their High Elf cousins but believe themselves to be superior than the other elves as well due to their connection with nature. They tend to the Terrace Gardens and the Great Tree of Oberonia. When making a Wood Elf think of the Dalish from Dragon Age series, with or without the tattoos. Fairies are the most mysterious of the Elf sub-species. They make their home in the Fairy Fountain. Fairies are the least racist of all elves and will actually make friends with adventurers who come through their forests. Several will actually join in the adventures. When making a Fairy think of Legend of Zelda Fairies. |
Grimm
Grimm is a broad term that sums up all monsters that have grown sentience. Most have also learned how to assume a humanoid form as well. Grimm are the newest race in Mystern as they didn't appear until after the monsters who came with Numiera and Vivalvi did. There are only two types of Grimm who didn't start out as monsters but as humans and elves: Vampires and Werewolves. Vampires tend to stay near the Haunted Manor in the old cemetary, Grave Grove. Werewolves live in a pack and continually move in the direction their Alpha chooses. Neither are very numerous, both having only a couple dozen in both the vampire family and the werewolf pack. Grimm can be anything found on the monster part of the bestiary. |
